Replacement parts for your chandelier are fairly easy to find. There are numerous places available online to purchase various styles of crystals, bulbs, and globes. Most contemporary chandelier parts are available through the manufacturer, ensuring a perfect match. Some older lighting fixtures may be a little more difficult to find exact replacement parts for.

When replacing the prisms or crystals on a chandelier the first thing to consider is whether or not all existing crystals will be replaced. If not, it is important to carefully match the size and shape of the new prisms. The next step in finding replacement crystals for a chandelier is matching the quality of the prisms. The highest quality chandelier parts are pieces made of lead crystal. Lead crystal is clear and easily refracts light. A non-lead crystal prism will be very obvious beside a top quality lead crystal piece. Better quality chandelier parts are generally more expensive than their lower quality counterparts because the prisms are hand polished on all sides to give the crystal a smooth, perfect finish. Lower quality prisms often have noticeable seams from the molds they were made in.

The replacement of chandelier globes should be handled in the same way as replacing the crystals. It may sometimes be easier to replace all the globes if it seems hard to find an exact match to the original. Other parts and chandelier pieces are readily available at most fine lighting stores. More detailed help with matching and proper part replacement can often be found from places specializing in antique lighting.
