Crystal chandeliers are in the rave these days. This is so because crystals lend a touch of purity and simplicity to chandeliers while giving them an opulent and magnificent beauty. The most popular crystal chandeliers today are made mostly of Strass Crystal, a fine piece of crystal that is created by Swarovski Crystals. This material is hand polished after being cut by the machine, and finished with an invisible optical layer for a most dramatic effect.
Different designs of the crystal chandelier have been introduced by so many artists since 2002. Swarovski Crystals indeed played a magnificent part in these designs, lending them a touch of class and elegance.
The “Vertigo” crystal chandelier is one classic example of this. Laser lights are added to the crystal panels, giving the chandelier a modern touch to its ethereal beauty. We also have the “Science and Fiction” chandelier, influenced by Marie-Therese chandelier dedicated to the Empress of Austria. Its ornate candle arms with about 111 crystals seem to lure like the arms of the empress herself. Another piece of design is called the “Yoga”, a relaxing crystal chandelier that is lighted using halogens for a relaxing feel, with pastel colored shades and a golden frame around it. The “Mediterraneo” chandelier even changes its own color right before the viewer’s eyes, giving a soothing glow to any room it touches.
Designs for crystal chandeliers may vary but the material that truly lends it that air is the Strass Crystal that it is made of.
